I started coming here 5 years ago, moved to Tampa and still come here 2-3 a times a year for the crunchy grouper! It's really the best in town, always so fresh and the homemade bread makes it very delicious. The atmosphere is relaxing and very welcoming. Try the burgers, everything is prepared fresh everyday and that makes it the best.

This gem is a coffee shop by day and a great tavern by night! Live music during the week, indoor and outdoor seating to suit whatever you are after, and epic grouper sandwiches! I met up with some family after a long day of meetings at the USF campus and we managed to grab a table in the back room and had the place to ourselves for hours. They have some great cider and beer on tap (get the raspberry lemonade cider!) and the food is solid and satisfying.

I can see why they were voted the best grouper sandwich in the Bay Area...the corn flake and sliced almond batter is a winner. The only thing I'd change is that this batter desperately needs more salt! Every time I've come here for this sandwich, this has been the case...with this slight (but very important) tweak, I'd say you'd be hard pressed to find a better grouper sandwich in the area.

**** Review 141 **** Great place for lunch. You do have to order inside, then they bring you your food. The fish is fresh and delicious, the fries are nice and crispy. And the prices aren't too bad. Over all a lovely local place.

What a gem of a spot tucked away near the Dali Museum and Mahaffey theatre. Stopped by here before a show at the theatre on a whim and stoked we did! The ambiance was laid back with a live music group playing/getting ready to start playing again on an open patio with some good seating for the band and others away from the band but still good seating. A pretty chill and nice atmosphere. Read up on other reviews about the fish sandwich (grouper crusted in almond and corn flakes?!) and how it was one of the best around and after getting it...I couldn't agree more. For the price (I believe $14) it was the cheapest grouper sandwich I've been able to get and also one of the largest. The sides are an up charge which is a little unfortunate but no biggie. Ended up getting Cole slaw which was not as great as the grouper but not bad either. A decent selection of beers on tap and in the frosted at the entrance and other drink options for the non-beer and non-alcohol drinkers. Other menu items looked delectable but am beyond happy with the grouper. I would def love to come back to enjoy the music and sip on a beer and try a different menu item in the future!

Pretty nice little college bar. Cheap beer, ala Carte food at cheaper price point, nice people. Got the basket of fries and the tavern burger. Thick burger ordered medium and came out well but no real complaints on that. You can get a beer for under $3 near the water which is a big sell for me. Rotating Tap is going to run you a little more and the first one for me came out more on the flat side. Fries were crispy which weirdly enough for a lot of Tampa bay is difficult to do Overall 4/5 would recommend to a friend for a nostalgic afternoon cheap bite and beer

If you're looking for an aesthetic cute little spot for your perfectly curated Instagram feed, this is not that. But if you're looking for some banging affordable lunch, this is the one. I would have never discovered this place if I didn't work at a place within walking distance. And let me tell you, that would have been entirely my loss. This is a great spot to grab lunch with colleagues or pop in with a friend for a bite. Be mindful that the restaurant is technically on USF St. Pete's campus, so when class is in session you may have longer wait times. There's ample outdoor seating and parking right out front. Apparently they have live music but I've never been when that's going on. GET THE FRIED GROUPER SANDWICH OR GET THE SHRIMP PO BOY. You'll thank me later.

As a tourist, I love hole-in-the-wall places like this! It's a little off the beaten path - our Uber driver didn't even see it while dropping us off at night, but seemed like a nice/quiet campus area. We were lucky enough to come on a Friday which meant a local live music and there was enough seating (outdoor only) that we were able to sit right away after ordering inside. The beer selection was lackluster, but what we came for was the grouper sandwiches and they did not disappoint. We got 1 Crunchy and 1 Blackened fresh Florida grouper sandwich with fries and sweet potato fries. While I have to say I much preferred the Blackened sandwich, I felt the Crunchy sandwich with their cereal breading was too unique to pass up trying. It was GIGANTIC and very crunchy, but the best part of the sandwich may have been their super fluffy homemade rosemary roll (even if it was much smaller than the fish itself.)
